Vans and Record Store Day present Portraits Of Her — a collaborative record, zine, and video series created by women, for women.

This project shines a light on the women working in the music industry. From the ones on stage, to those running record stores and working behind the scenes — we’re uplifting their stories and experiences, honoring their truths, and celebrating their strength and passion in continuing to pave the path forward for others.

With our episodic films, we focused on bringing together women from different corners of the music world to talk about why they continue to be so dedicated to do all that they do.

For Record Store Day itself, we released our zine & album, over 82% of which is woman-made.

This limited-edition vinyl features 16 donated tracks from groundbreaking female artists. The sales of the album benefitted We Are Moving The Needle. And to honor some of the musicians on the album, we partnered with artist Jordi Ng to design our zine.

We took our concept a step further in our outreach packages, which featured a tab that let the receiver throw away statistics projects like ours set out to subvert.
